PokerStars Introduces RCOOP

PokerStars Unveils Regional Championships

PokerStars recently unveiled it's newest tournament series, Regional Championships of Online Poker or RCOOP. RCOOP will be held in 13 different regions with each region having it's own 11 tournament series. Each Regions series will have it's own main event and guaranteed prize pool. The total guaranteed prize pool over all regions is over $7 million.

RCOOP is set to kick off with the Russian Open Championship of Online Poker on October 31st 2010. Most other regions events will run during November while a few will go all the way into Febuary 2011.

The 13 regions included in RCOOP are The United States, Canada, Russia, Germany, The UK and Ireland, Nordic countries, Central and Eastern Europe, Baltic countries, Asia-Pacific, Mediterranean countries, Latin America, Iberian countries, and Benelux countries. While PokerStars usually only allows English chat at the tables, during RCOOP each region will be allowed to speak their native language.

Each regions RCOOP series consists of tournaments with buy ins to suit all players. PokerStars is also running satellites into the RCOOP events for as little as a few dollars.

Many of the RCOOP events will also be hosted by local Team PokerStars Pros and they will be competeing in the events as well.
